Stock Simulator – Open Coding Society
What began as a simple challenge became a fully interactive way for students to understand the stock market without fear or financial risk. I noticed how many were curious about investing yet held back by uncertainty — so I set out to build a simulator that reflects real market behavior while keeping the learning experience completely safe.
The simulator features:
Real-time NYSE data that mirrors live market conditions for authentic practice.
An Invest Mode where students can build a virtual portfolio and study performance.
A Predict Mode using five years of historical data to test intuition and decision-making.
Dedicated pages for viewing stocks, making trades, and tracking analytics and stats.
This wasn’t just a game — it became a dynamic learning environment designed to build confidence, curiosity, and financial awareness through exploration.
Seeing students experiment freely and gain clarity without risking a dollar made the project especially rewarding.
